Babette me everywhere: It isn’t Christmas if it doesn’t include a Babette Schwartz. Watch Miss Babette and a crew of special (very special) guests for two evenings at Urban Mo’s. It’s hands-down one of the best holiday drag show in San Diego. Be smart and get your tickets to A Very Babette Christmas early, then get there early to get a good spot. Then have an early drink (it is Mo’s, after all). The party starts at 7 p.m., with the show at 8 p.m. with DJ Taj spinning after. Cuckoo Chaos

Cuckoo for Soda Bar: Get a little local live music into your weekend at the Soda Bar in North Park. Cuckoo Chaos headlines, so you want to be there. They’ve been called San Diego’s “super group,” with members complied from several other bands. Think The New Pornographers, only local. Chaos won the Best Alternative Band at the 2010 San Diego Music Awards and just released their album, “Woman.” It’s called woman! And the first single is “Jesus Flag American Fish.” Swear. I’ll be your Dream Girls: And hands-down the other best holiday drag show? The Dream Girls Christmas Holiday show at Bourbon Street Bar and Grill. The lovely Ladonna Monroe hosts this dinner and show with San Diego’s “hardest working ho-ho-hos.” That’s a direct quote, don’t call me on it. The Center’s holiday show

The Center Christmas journey: “Over the Mistletoe and back to The Center” is Excellence In Media and Chandalier Entertainment’s non-traditional Christmas journey performance staged tonight at The Center. The benefit has all the proceeds going directly to The Center. This is what they have to say: “Join sexy Santa and Mrs. Claus as they take you on a wild ride of comedy, naughtiness and outrageous entertainment.” Sold? Occupy open mic: from Ocupemos el Barrio-Occupy the ’Hood comes an open mic rally to let your Occupy San Diego voice be heard. “Our communities have suffered due to neglect by elected officials and criminalization and harassment from the police for way too long,” said the press release. In Chicano park at 1 p.m., an open mic session will take place for those to discuss their grievances and effects on the community. At 3 p.m., a general assembly will take place to form solutions in a “horizontal manner.” Ocupemos el Barrio is fighting for social, economic and environmental justice. We Care mixer at Eden: If you’re in the holiday spirit (come on, Mr. Grinch) drop by Eden for Junior Buendia’s We Care holiday mixer, now in its third year. The fun serves as a benefit to raise money and toys for The Center’s youth programs, the memorial preparatory Academy and the Imperial Court de San Diego’s Toys for Kids Drive. Many of the local LGBT sports leagues will be there to help raise funds, as well as to promote their leagues. Flag Football, SD Hoops, SD Tennis Federation, SAGA Ski and Snowboarders, Armada Rugby… you name it, they will be there. No, you don’t have to wear pads (unless you want to). Bring an unwrapped toy for a child, and some cash for a raffle. Junior will be giving away some fantastic prizes. Ladies Christmas party: Done with Christmas? Done with gifts? Bourbon street hosts Naughty Ms. Claus Go-Go Contest at their Sunday Ladies Night bask. $1,000 in cash and prizes will be given to the best go-go dancers, including an official gig at Bourbon Street. Drink specials all night, so get out of that Christmas slumber and get your go-go on. Nero dubstep in the House: UK’s premiere Dubstep duo, Nero, will be the headlining DJs at the House of Blues tonight. The duo hails from West London and released their debut album “Welcome Reality” in the U.S. on Dec. 13. Expect to hear hits from the album, including “Promises,” along with a long list of other epic, stadium rock, electro-funk, jazz and classical mash-ups. Nero has 30 years of dance history—from disco to dubstep—in their repertoire, including producing remixes for all our favorites: La Roux, deadmau5 and Daft Punk. The House of Blues is located at 1055 5th Ave. downtown and the 18+ show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $42.50.
